I’m looking for holiday accommodation in a few different cities and I have been checking www.hotelreservations.com for their rates on Hotel Reservations.
Once I’d calculated the exchange rate, I was surprised to find they actually have some competitive offers for a wide variety of top hotels in Las Vegas. I know most of them, where they are located and the rough ‘rack rate’ for accommodation. This is because I make a lot of accommodation and travel bookings in my old job as a tour operator, so I have a pretty good idea of what discounts to ask for and get.
They guarantee to have the lowest internet prices - up to 70% off regular rates, which is no small boast. You can book via the internet or over the phone.
I also checked out some hotels in New York City for a freind’s honeymoon. If you feel rich or it’s a special occasion you could stay at The Carlyle on the upper east side for $788 instead of $927. If you stay two nights, you get 15% off. If you’re on a more modest budget, try the high-tech Pod Hotel in midtown for $177 per night.
On a shoestring? How about the Continental Hostel on the upper west side for $63 a night, with 15% off for a two night stay. I think the only cheaper place to stay in NYC would be a park bench!
The site also has cash back deals, which I think is excellent. Get the rewards points on your credit card and cash back in your wallet - it’s a win both ways!
You even get a choice of currency and language to work with. I think that’s great! They are pretty much a one-stop-shop - cars, flights, hotels and vacation packages all in one place and at discounted rates.
